Sturbridge’s Select Board has more than half a million dollars in proposed infrastructure agreements to consider Monday, covering work at the wastewater treatment plant and services for the Main Street trail-and-bridge project.

The proposals total $526,500, but cover different stages of work, from studies to services during construction. Monday’s votes will determine which agreements move forward.

The Board meets Monday, October 19, at 6:30 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Hall at Town Hall, 308 Main Street.

A next step for the Main Street trail project

The Board will consider $218,300 for services associated with the 469A Main Street Trail and Bridge Project.

The proposal covers managing the bidding process, providing services during construction and monitoring environmental conditions afterward.

The amount covers that scope of services. The agenda does not give residents a full construction price or an opening date, so those remain important pieces of the story to follow.

Monday’s decision is whether to approve the proposal and authorize the Town Administrator to execute the agreement.

Wastewater proposals total $308,200

The same agenda includes four proposed agreements with Tighe & Bond for the wastewater treatment facility.

The largest is $158,800 for influent screens and screening-room heating, ventilation and air-conditioning upgrades. Another $90,000 would cover PTU No. 3 painting and rehabilitation.

Two smaller proposals would study the plant’s mixed-sludge pumps and plant-water system, at $29,800 and $29,600, respectively.

Together, the proposed caps total $308,200. The work combines equipment-related improvements, rehabilitation and studies that would help define future needs. Approval of these agreements would still leave residents with later costs and construction details to track as those become available.

Warren Road pole hearing starts at 6:35

Residents near Warren Road and Brookfield Road may want to follow National Grid’s request for five new utility poles.

The proposed stretch begins approximately 700 feet northwest of the intersection and continues about 1,100 feet west. The public hearing is scheduled for 6:35 p.m., giving residents a chance to hear the request before the Board decides what action to take.

Two timber-harvest hearings follow: 198 Podunk Road at 6:45 p.m. and 175 Arnold Road at 6:55 p.m.
